- When this competition is distorted, when any company wants to make money from people's misfortune, the state will react - announced Marcin Kierwiński, responding to the material of the "Interwencja" program, which raised the issue of high insurance rates offered by insurers to victims of last year's flood.

Polsat News' "Interwencja" (Intervention) highlights the difficult situation faced by residents of southern Poland after renovating homes damaged by floods that swept through the Lower Silesian, Silesian, and Opole voivodeships a year ago. Many of them are complaining about unfair practices by private insurance companies .

They either refuse to provide insurance or offer exorbitant rates. In some cases, the cost of insurance has risen from PLN 8,000 to PLN 96,000, or from PLN 30,000 to as much as PLN 5 million. Marcin Kierwiński , the government's plenipotentiary for flood reconstruction, was asked about the situation in Tuesday's "Graffiti."

Marcin Kierwiński announces actions following the "Intervention" footage. "The state will react."

The politician announced that he would discuss the matter with PZU CEO Andrzej Klesyk and Minister of State Assets Jakub Jaworowski . "Each case is very individual. If the situations you reported in 'Interwencja' occur, each case requires individual consideration ," he said.

Kierwiński admitted that the state cannot directly influence the insurance market , but will not allow abuses by entrepreneurs who will want to take advantage of the difficult situation in which flood victims find themselves.

- When this competition is distorted, when any company wants to make money from people's misfortune , the state will react - argued the minister.
